HomeAtlas: Child Safety Standards
These standards apply to the HomeAtlas website, mobile applications, and related services (the “Service”), operated by OMNIA VINCULA PTY LTD ACN 700 615 498, trading as HomeAtlas (ABN 28 700 615 498). They form part of our Terms of Service and sit alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
We explicitly prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on the Service. This includes, without limitation: creating, uploading, storing, sharing, requesting, or linking to CSAM; grooming, sexualising, or soliciting minors; sextortion; and the trafficking or advertising of minors. Attempting to use any HomeAtlas feature, including AI features, to produce such content is prohibited.
Violation of this policy results in immediate account termination. Where we identify or are made aware of apparent CSAM or child exploitation, we preserve relevant material as required and report it to the appropriate authorities, including the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE), the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and/or local law enforcement, in accordance with applicable law.
2. How the Service is built to protect children
- Adult-held accounts. HomeAtlas accounts are created and held by adults. A child never signs up on their own.
- Parent-managed child access. A child can only use HomeAtlas through a restricted child profile that a parent or guardian creates, configures, and can revoke at any time. Child sessions are confined to an explicit allowlist of child-appropriate features.
- No contact with strangers. Children cannot start conversations, add contacts, or communicate with anyone outside the closed family/carer circle their parent controls. Children cannot access public sharing or comment surfaces.
- Parental controls and oversight. Parents control each child feature (homework help, messaging, uploads), can set time limits, and can see an activity overview.
- Restricted AI features. Child-facing AI features are study-focused, use age-appropriate safety instructions, and are usage-capped. AI avatar images are stylised illustrations only, the Service does not accept user photos for avatar generation.
- Data minimisation for children. See our Privacy Policy for how children's information is handled. Third-party product analytics are disabled for child profiles.
3. Reporting a concern, in the app
Every signed-in user can report a concern without leaving the app: open Send feedback (the report icon available throughout HomeAtlas) and choose “A safety concern (including child safety)”. You can also report offensive content, including AI-generated content, through the same control.
Safety reports go to a priority review queue and are reviewed by a person. Where a report indicates a child is at risk, we act on it as our highest priority, up to and including account termination and referral to law enforcement.
You can also reach us directly at [email protected]. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
4. Compliance with child safety laws
We comply with applicable child safety and online safety laws in the regions where the Service is offered, including the Australian Online Safety Act 2021 and, to the extent applicable, COPPA (US) and the GDPR (EU/UK) as they relate to children's data. We cooperate with lawful requests from child safety authorities and law enforcement.
